Night
At this time of there isn't a lot of lighting. This time of day is used a lot in horror films. This time of day creates a very dark and shadowy effect on the shots. Due to this this can allow the audience can start to feel tense, using the darkness it can also hide something that may be wanting to hurt someone.

day
Day time can be an unusual time to film because it isn't usually associated with horror films. Night is more associated because it allows the use of jump scares however, in a film such as Happy Death Day there are a lot of shots which show the main character in day time, which allows the audience to have a clearer sense as to where the characters location might be. The killer usually wont be within the shots.

In our trailer we needed to make sure to incorporate all of the correct lighting in order to make the most creative and exciting clips. For our trailer we filmed all of our shots inside, however we include a lot of natural light, so we used the day time for a lot of our shots. This allowed for our shots to consist of natural light which have the effect of a more natural feel. Since we filmed during the daytime it could represent the killer as not being to bothered about when to torture and kill her patients. Despite using a lot of natural light for the majority of our clips we did include the use of the flood light. We used this to lighten up specific objects to make them stand out and gain the attention of the audience. This allowed the killer to highlight her weapons for both her patients and for the audience to see this. This indicates to the audience how the victim might die.
Within our trailer we didn't use much night time lighting as we didn't need our killer to be outside as she mainly tortures her victims inside within our trailer.
